Full-Time Network Security Operations Engineer

We are looking for a Network Security Operations Engineer Expert with at least 5 years of experience in security.

Experience with Web Application Firewalls (WAF), Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), Fortinet and Checkpoint firewalls is required.

Experience with AWS and intermediate proficiency in Python is beneficial.

Summary of Primary Responsibilities

• Deploy and maintain Cloud WAFs to protect web applications.
• Migrate legacy firewall equipment to next-generation firewalls (Fortinet and Checkpoint).
• Provide SME expertise on security incidents, audits, and high-priority escalations.
• Configure and maintain Intrusion Prevention Systems.
• Collaborate with the security team to enforce policies and procedures.
• Analyze security logs to identify and respond to incidents.
• Conduct regular security assessments and review vulnerability scans.
• Maintain documentation for security configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Provide technical support and guidance to other team members.

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in security, focusing on WAF, IPS, and Next-Generation Firewalls.
• Proficiency in managing Fortinet Firewalls.
• AWS cloud services experience.
• Intermediate proficiency in Python.
• Experience with DevOps tools (Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, etc.).

Beneficial

• Relevant security certifications (CISSP, CEH, AWS Certified Security).
• Ability to troubleshoot complex network environments.

Location

This is a permanent, home-based role in Costa Rica.
