Full-Time Non-Chemist/Chemist Data Validator

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESAs a member of the team in our Global Business Solutions (GBS) center, conducts data processing in the analysis of EHS matrix samples in chemical lab. Validates, calculates and reports lab results to strict quality and ethical standards.

REPORTING LINEOperational direct reporting to Affiliate lab manager or supervisor; administrative accountability to GBS Supervisor.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIESComplies with SGS Code of Integrity and Professional Conduct.

• Performs data processing functions, including laboratory data calculations and integrations, quality control checks, LIMS entries, and other data management functions.
• Ensures lab deadlines are met and notifies GBS Team Coordinator (or section Lab Manager) if turnaround time cannot be met.
• Ensures testing methodology and quality control procedures are performed according to ISO17025 and SGS lab standards.
• Keeps Affiliate Manager, GBS Supervisor and other key Affiliate personnel informed of operational issues (personnel matters affecting performance, failure to meet requirements, inconsistencies in quality control procedures, additional training requirements).
• Adopts operational improvement activities communicated by the GBS Team Lead (focus on quality, efficiency, accreditation, communication, and technical improvement).
• Maintains a working knowledge of all required analytical procedures in the section.
• Looks for efficiency gains by being aware of new technologies and reviewing existing procedures.
• Responds to technical queries.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Ensures work area is kept clean and presentable.
• Remains familiar with SGS quality assurance procedures.
• Complies with SGS QHSE and HR policies and procedures.
