Job Details
We are looking for an experienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) with hands-on expertise in managing Oracle databases and migrating them to AWS RDS (Relational Database Service). The ideal candidate will be responsible for database administration, performance tuning, and end-to-end migration of Oracle databases from on-premises or EC2-hosted environments to Amazon RDS.
- Administer, monitor, and maintain Oracle databases (11g/12c/19c).
- Plan and execute end-to-end migration of Oracle databases to Amazon RDS.
- Design and implement database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions.
- Perform database tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting to ensure high performance and availability.
- Manage schema changes, patching, and upgrades in a controlled and efficient manner.
- Work closely with application, infrastructure, and DevOps teams for database-related support.
- Implement and enforce security policies and user access controls.
- Create and maintain documentation related to database architecture, procedures, and configurations.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in Oracle database administration.
- Strong experience with Oracle RAC, ASM, RMAN, Data Pump, and OEM.
- Proven experience in migrating Oracle databases to AWS RDS (using DMS, Data Pump, or manual methods).
- Good understanding of AWS services (especially RDS, EC2, S3, IAM).
- Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL scripting and automation tools (Shell, Python preferred).
- Experience with performance tuning and troubleshooting complex database issues.
- Familiarity with compliance and security best practices in a cloud environment.
- AWS Certified Database – Specialty or AWS Solutions Architect certification.
- Experience with multi-region RDS deployments and high availability architectures.
- Familiarity with CI/CD processes and tools like Jenkins, Git, or Terraform for DB provisioning.
