Role Overview Intelerad seeks a Platform Architect II to lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of cloud-native platform infrastructure, establish platform standards, create developer tooling, and drive reliability, performance, and cost optimization across public cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement resilient, scalable cloud-native platform architectures and standards.
- Build tooling and automation to improve developer velocity and experience, including internal developer portals.
- Lead performance, cost optimization and reliability initiatives using infrastructure-as-code principles.
- Review architecture proposals, provide technical guidance, and enforce platform standards.
- Mentor platform engineers and contribute to hiring, onboarding, and documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent and 4+ years in platform engineering or infrastructure architecture.
- Advanced knowledge of Kubernetes and container orchestration.
- Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Pulumi, or equivalent) and at least one backend or scripting language (e.g., Go, Python).
- Experience designing and operating production systems with SLAs and public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Strong understanding of CI/CD, automation, observability, and incident management.
Preferred
- Experience with internal developer portals (Backstage, Port), service mesh/API gateway architectures, platform security, FinOps, compliance for regulated industries, and open-source contributions.
Other Remote role with occasional travel; participation in on-call rotation and a required 30-minute online assessment as part of the application.
