Full-Time Power BI Expert Senior Business Intelligence Analyst

About the role:The Power BI Expert | Senior Business Intelligence Analyst role is a very important role that involves leading and building out design solutions for our P5 team, working extensively with Power BI.

What you get to do in this role:

1. Lead Power BI Initiatives: Own and drive the development of advanced Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions for the security department, ensuring alignment with core business needs.
2. Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including security operations, analytics, and IT, to identify key BI requirements and deliver actionable insights through robust data models and dashboards.
3. Advanced Power BI Development: Utilize advanced Power BI features (DAX, Power Query, Power BI Service, and Power BI Report Server) to create interactive, scalable, and automated reporting solutions tailored for security and executive decision-making.
4. Mentorship and Leadership: Guide and mentor junior team members in Power BI best practices, helping them grow their technical skills and understanding of the platform.
5. Data Integration with Snowflake: Integrate Snowflake as the central data source for BI and reporting solutions. Work on data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes to ensure efficient and scalable data pipelines.
6. Executive Reporting: Lead the creation of BI reports and dashboards that are presented to senior executives, ensuring clarity and actionable insights in complex security data.
7. Project Ownership: Lead core BI projects, from gathering requirements to delivering actionable, data-driven insights to key stakeholders.
8. Data Governance & Security: Maintain data governance best practices within the BI environment, ensuring sensitive security data is handled in compliance with internal and external regulations.
9. Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving. This may include using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI’s potential impact on the function or industry.

To be successful in this role you have:

• Expert-level Power BI Knowledge: 3-6 years of hands-on experience working with Power BI, including advanced DAX, Power Query, report design, and Power BI Service administration.
• Strong Understanding of Data Warehousing: Experience working with Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouses, including designing and optimizing data models for BI reporting.
• Leadership Experience: Proven track record in leading BI development projects and mentoring junior team members in best practices for Power BI and data visualization.
• Advanced Data Modeling & Visualization: Expertise in designing and building complex data models and visualizations that transform raw data into clear, actionable insights for business users.
• SQL Proficiency: Strong skills in SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and integration with Power BI.
• Security Domain Knowledge: Experience working with or a deep understanding of security data and how to leverage BI to provide actionable insights within the security domain.
• Clear Communication Skills: Ability to present complex findings and insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders, including executives.
• Collaboration & Influence: Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and align stakeholders across departments.
• Nice to Have Experience with Snowflake: Familiarity with Snowflake’s data architecture and data loading processes to integrate Snowflake with Power BI.
• Experience in Security Analytics: Prior experience working on BI initiatives in a security or compliance-focused environment.
• Power BI Certification: A Microsoft Power BI certification is a plus,but not required.
• Data Governance & Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with data privacy and security practices, particularly in relation to handling sensitive data.
