Your Career as a Principal Consultant: This role is client-facing and requires leading projects and producing deliverables based on proactive services client engagements. The Principal Consultant works directly with multiple customers and key stakeholders (technical operators, management, C-Suite, etc) to drive the security priorities of Cloud Platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and Cloud Related Applications/Services (CASB).
Your Impact as a Principal Consultant: Lead engagements delivering Proactive Consulting Services for consulting clients. A trusted advisor assisting customers with their cybersecurity posture.
- Understanding the cloud threat intelligence landscape, including threat actors and common attacks.
- Conducting security configuration audits of client cloud administration consoles against industry-standard frameworks and best practices.
- Performing architectural overviews of client cloud environment networking edge protections.
- Analyzing the current level of monitoring and alerting within cloud-hosted infrastructure and environments, providing gap analysis on log coverage.
- Conducting reviews of cloud identity management methodologies (federation, delegation, conditional access, multi-factored authentication).
- Conducting general cyber risk assessments using frameworks like NIST CSF, ISO 27001/2, PCI, CIS Top 2, CMMD, or others.
- Using command-line interfaces of cloud-hosted environments for technical and control set validation.
- Assessing client implementations of multi-cloud and hybrid-cloud environments, understanding technical implementations of on-premises and other cloud environment dependencies.
- Advising on and developing cloud security initiative roadmaps to secure cloud environments and on-premises infrastructure interactions.
Your Experience: 6-9+ years of cloud security advisement and risk assessments, former professional services and consulting experience preferred, managing a team of consultants, Cloud Security-related certifications preferred, hands-on experience with a cloud hosting provider (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.), experience with a Cloud Application Security Broker (CASB - MCAS, Netskope), deep technical knowledge in CASBs, Cloud Platforms, dependencies (WAF, SSO, Cloud Threats, API Security, Cloud Security Posture Management), former experience with cloud migrations, proven track record in strengthening existing and developing new client relationships.
Additional skills: command-line interfaces or scripting tools in cloud environments, scoping new opportunities and drafting statements of work/proposals, performing travel, growing into valuable contributor to the practice (external presence via speaking/conferences/publications). Credibility, executive presence, rapid delivery, strong business acumen, collaborative nature building relationships internally/externally/across functions.
Education/Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Digital Forensics, Cyber Security or equivalent experience.
