Full-Time Principal Market Analyst

Company Overview: Plus Power is a leading energy storage market leader, transforming North American grids with a 10+ GW portfolio across multiple states and provinces. We aim to make energy storage cheaper and faster to deploy than new fossil fuel infrastructure.

Role Overview: We seek a creative, experienced Principal Market Analyst to join our Market Analysis team. You will play a crucial role in developing our industry-leading BESS analytics platform, impacting project deployment and optimization.

Responsibilities:

1. Benchmark and enhance our battery dispatch modeling platform.
2. Lead back-cast analyses for market analysis, project siting, M&A, and finance.
3. Update the ERCOT BESS performance dashboard and analyze market conditions/bidding behaviors.
4. Track market rule changes and recommend risk-adjusted trading strategies.
5. Execute fundamentals-based price forecasting and support DA/RT bids.
6. Utilize internal and external data (YES Energy, ISO/RTOs, etc.) to develop data-driven models and insights.
7. Collaborate with Fundamentals Analysis, Trading, Data Science, and Commercial teams.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Economics, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in optimization, production cost simulations, energy markets (especially ERCOT), quantitative analysis, and/or BESS analysis.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and data analysis.
• Strong energy market knowledge, locational marginal pricing, and congestion decomposition.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional, geographically dispersed team.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
