Job Details
Balsam International is seeking a Principal Quality Engineer to lead test automation, drive innovation in testing frameworks, and ensure scalability and reliability. This role involves architecting and optimizing automation frameworks, mentoring engineers, and integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines. Reporting to the Director, QE and DevOps.
What you’ll be doing:
- Test Automation Strategy & Framework Architecture: Designs and implements scalable automation frameworks, focusing on Playwright for E2E testing.
- Leadership & Mentorship: Acts as an SME in Playwright and automation, mentoring junior engineers.
- Automation Development & CI/CD Integration: Develops and optimizes automated test scripts for functional, regression, and API testing.
- Software Quality Assurance & Governance: Defines and tracks automation KPIs, ensuring improvements in test coverage and defect detection.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partners with various teams to drive quality-first development and advocate for automation.
What we’re looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 14 years in QA Automation.
- Experience with test automation tools like Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Typescript.
- Solid understanding of software testing principles and Agile Development.
- Familiarity with CI/CD concepts, performance, and security testing.
Must-haves:
- Attend occasional in-person meetings.
- Fast, reliable internet connection (minimum 50MBPS).
