Your Career As a Professional Services Consultant (SASE), you’ll dive deep into our platform. You will handle difficult challenges in cybersecurity, implementations, and integrations. You are the technical authority and interact directly with customers to secure their digital environments. You will train their staff. Experience with our platform is desired, but a solid foundation in networking and security technologies, combined with excellent communication skills, is crucial. Experience with competitor technology is a plus. Many opportunities involve migrating clients to our platform for the first time, so understanding that technology will improve your consulting skills. We provide Professional Services Academy training before customer interaction.
Your Impact As a Professional Services Consultant (SASE), you will be the top technical authority and strategic driver for Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) solutions (Prisma Access, Prisma Access Browser, SD-WAN). You will lead technical initiatives, mentor engineering teams, guarantee customer success, and evolve next-generation security services.
Business and Project Ownership: Own overall technical business performance (fiscal goals, timelines, targets). Provide technical oversight for all SASE projects. Drive project completion on time, manage backlog, and align with business objectives.
Technical Leadership and Mentorship: Lead and mentor engineers, maintaining high technical standards and consistency in SASE delivery. Establish and promote engineering best practices. Contribute to resource planning and future SASE expertise development within the Center of Excellence (CoE).
Customer Engagement and Escalation Management: Drive customer satisfaction. Partner with Project Management and other teams for high CSAT scores. Handle complex technical and customer-facing issues, providing resolution paths and stakeholder communication. Deliver consistent, high-quality results.
Technical Execution and Problem Solving: Troubleshoot complex SASE issues (security, networking, cloud architecture). Design and implement solutions to improve Prisma Access/Prisma Access Browser performance, reliability, and security. Migrate customers from legacy remote access to SASE. Build custom security policies and application signatures.
Cross-Functional Collaboration and Communication: Work with networking, cloud, and cybersecurity teams. Lead technical meetings and represent Professional Services. Communicate technical concepts to all audiences.
Training and Enablement: Enable technical teams in Prisma Access, Prisma Access Browser, SD-WAN, and broader SASE technologies. Maintain consistent training programs across geographies and teams.
Operational and Support Responsibilities: Analyze logs to proactively identify and resolve issues. Collaborate with Technical Assistance Center (TAC) for escalation/resolution. Support planned maintenance (including after-hours/weekend support). Guide clients through code upgrades and best practices for solution maintenance. Ensure customer deliverables meet scope.
Your Experience: Proven expertise in architecting, deploying, and optimizing Palo Alto Networks SASE platforms; deep knowledge of Prisma Access, Prisma Access Browser, GlobalProtect, and NGFWs. Hands-on experience with remote user access technologies (IPSec VPN, SSL VPN, Explicit Proxy, tunneling, encryption protocols, PKI/certificate management). Experience with authentication (2FA, SAML, RADIUS, LDAP, TACACS, Certificates), and directory services (Okta, Active Directory, Azure ADFS, Ping, Entra ID, OneLogin). Strong routing expertise (BGP, static routing, traffic steering, redistribution, PBF). In-depth knowledge of NGFW capabilities (Panorama, App-ID, User-ID, Threat Prevention, URL Filtering, SSL Decryption, CASB, DLP, IP, NAT). Strong written/verbal communication skills; ability to articulate technical concepts to all audiences. Comfort working independently and in cross-functional teams, managing multiple complex projects under pressure. Direct customer-facing experience.
Nice To Have: SD-WAN (preferably Prisma SD-WAN), enterprise browser management (Chrome, Edge), endpoint management tools (Microsoft Intune, Jamf, VMware Workspace ONE). Scripting proficiency (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
