Job Details
Professional Services Consultant is an integral part of the Professional Services team.
Provide onsite and/or remote deployment and configuration expertise relating to Palo Alto Networks solutions.
Function as the product's Subject Matter Expert interacting directly with customer personnel and project teams, providing leadership, technical direction, and alternatives to best practice deployment methodologies.
Develop and maintain expertise level skill sets on products and solutions deployed within the customer environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Migrate customers from legacy firewall technologies to Palo Alto Networks platforms
- Build custom security policies, application signatures, & threat profiles
- Deploy & configure advanced NGFW features (User-ID, Decryption)
- Convert legacy port-based security policies to application-based policies
- Provide after-hours & weekend on-call support
- Analyze logs & events for troubleshooting
- Troubleshoot & diagnose support cases with the Technical Assistance Center
- Maintain solutions and provide mentorship on code upgrades & best practices
Required Skills and Experience:
- Experience with network, security solutions, and technologies in large environments.
- Troubleshooting skills related to networking, routing, IP, NAT, IPSEC VPNs.
- Firewall appliance installation, configuration, and operation (ideally Palo Alto Networks).
- Industry certifications (e.g., CCNA, PCNSA, PCNSE)
- Ability to handle multiple projects and work under pressure.
- Strong writing and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with IDS/IPS solutions.
- Understanding of security threats, internet protocols, and applications.
- TCP/IP networking skills.
- Internetworking, LAN, and WAN technologies.
