Full-Time Quality Engineer I

Role Description

• Build and enhance tests to ensure application functionality in the FreedomPay system.
• Contribute to the engineering team's Agile practices for quality-focused applications.
• Develop a thorough understanding of the FreedomPay system architecture.
• Learn quality tasks and processes.
• Utilize mocks and simulators when needed.
• Collaborate effectively with engineering peers, and other teams (Product, Support, Project Management).
• Support promotions, deployments, and production monitoring.
• Partner with performance engineers to understand performance measurements related to functional testing.
• Gain knowledge of the payments business.

Basic Qualifications

• 0-2 years of development and testing experience using .NET and SQL, or equivalent object-oriented programming (OOP) experience.
• Experience developing and maintaining test code.
• Understanding of application testing.
• SQL scripting and database understanding.
• Understanding of Agile practices.
• Proficient GitLab user.
• Reliable team player.
• Strong English communication skills (listening, speaking, writing).
• Successful criminal background check.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with mocks and simulators.
• Experience with web front-ends, APIs, queuing, mobile apps, POS systems, and devices.
• Experience developing and maintaining test data for dynamic automation.
• Testing tool experience: Katalon, SonarQube, NUnit, Postman.
• Infrastructure application experience: Snowflake/Sigma, Kubernetes, Octopus/Argo, Redis, Azure DevOps, DynaTrace, SQL Server, Windows IIS.
