Candidate needs to live in Northern California. Travel is up to 25% within an identified region within North America.
The Quality Service Technician Sr. is responsible for representing O-I in the field, investigating quality-related issues to resolve problems efficiently, considering company and customer interests. Supporting customer operations and maintaining effective relationships between AOQ, Customer Service, Sales, Manufacturing Plants, and Customers.
- Provide quality technical services to customers and manufacturing plants related to glass quality performance on customer filling lines.
- Investigate customer complaints to determine severity and potential root cause(s), including customer line handling and setup.
- Document line performance of product on customer filling lines.
- Support strategies to increase customer productivity and keep filling lines in production when issues arise.
- Perform 3rd Party warehouse/repack/resort/decoration inspections following O-I procedures to identify GMP, quality, and operational concerns that could negatively affect inventory quality or customer service.
- Support Area Quality Managers with strategic initiatives.
- Experience visiting/assisting manufacturing plants with strategic quality performance improvement plans for their customer base.
- Initiate and aid in developing root cause and corrective actions with manufacturing plant, monitoring effectiveness at customer fill site locations.
- Good verbal and written communication through SAP quality notification system.
- Foster relationships between O-I manufacturing plants and customer fill site locations.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- 4-6 years related experience
- Strong understanding of customer filling lines
- Knowledge of customer operation, requirements, equipment, and procedures to prevent quality issues
- Solid experience of plant quality control procedures in glass container manufacturing (preferred)
- Working knowledge of glass defect identification (preferred)
- Plant Experience, Fracture Analysis
Travel Requirement:
- Area of responsibility: Northern California
- 25% travel within an identified region within North America

Compensation: $100,000 - $115,000 (depending on experience)
