Full-Time Reactor Systems Design Engineer

What will you be doing? As a Reactor Systems Design Engineer, you will join a team in Derby/Warrington to support nuclear sector activities. Your main responsibilities include:

1. Supporting design activities for Reactor and Core Systems, progressing from Final Concept Definition (FCD) to detailed design.
2. Taking ownership of cross-functional tasks to improve system design processes.
3. Engaging with design stakeholders for effective communication and adherence to governance processes (e.g., design reviews).
4. Developing comprehensive design documentation (e.g., System Design Descriptions, P&ID, Functional Bill of Materials, Requirement Definitions, Decision Records).

Who are we looking for?

• Strong understanding of systems engineering and requirements management.
• Knowledge of Pressurised Water Reactor (PWR) operating principles.
• Familiarity with reactor core physics (preferred).

Experience, skills, and qualifications required:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering, systems engineering, chemical engineering or a related nuclear systems field.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Proficient in delivering presentations and producing high-quality reports.
