Job Details
The Screening Team at Guardant Health focuses on early cancer detection product commercialization. The Regional Sales Director leads a team of Account Executives in a designated region, promoting SHIELD to general practice providers.
Responsibilities:
- Prospect, target, and identify early adopter lists to drive SHIELD adoption.
- Partner with national, regional, and local labs for phlebotomy draw agreements.
- Build relationships with key thought leaders and decision-makers in the assigned region.
- Manage 8-12 direct reports, including recruitment, coaching, and development.
- Achieve sales targets, forecast, and report progress.
- Ensure effective use of sales processes and marketing materials.
- Manage open territories and recruit new personnel.
- Develop a comprehensive business plan for the region.
- Collect customer insights and market trends.
- Leverage product expertise to present technology and clinical benefits.
- Collaborate with Key Account Managers and the commercial team.
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration within and outside the team.
- Act with integrity, respect, and a positive attitude, understanding organizational dynamics.
- Utilize company resources to provide technical and clinical content.
- Lead regional and national projects, participate in cross-functional projects, and may serve as a backup to the National Sales Director.
- Mentor individuals within and outside the commercial organization.
- Ensure sales force compliance with Quality, Regulatory, and Company policies.
- Meet customer access requirements.
- Travel approximately 75% within the assigned area and occasionally outside for regional/national meetings.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of customer-facing sales experience in medical, diagnostic, or medical device.
- 3+ years of sales leadership experience.
- Proven revenue generation at a diagnostic, pharmaceutical, or relevant biotechnology company.
- Experience leading sales teams promoting products to primary care providers.
- Experience in sales leadership during a product launch.
- Strong influencing, interpersonal, and networking skills.
- Proven coaching and education abilities.
- Experience in Reach and frequency, high-decile healthcare provider targeting.
- Strong critical thinking, reporting, and sales force metric tracking skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, listening, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
- Outstanding market, customer, distribution, and product knowledge.
- Strong strategic business analysis and planning skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
- Strong administrative skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Proficient in Salesforce.com.
- Bachelor's degree in life science, biology, business, or marketing (preferred).
