As the Regulatory Intelligence & Capability Specialist you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding our ALH Hotels business by leveraging your financial crime, safer gambling knowledge and advanced data and intelligence skills.
This position is responsible for developing and uplifting capabilities that proactively detect, prevent, and mitigate financial crime and safer gambling risks, you'll find new and better ways of creating awareness of this through training across the organisation to support our teams.
In this role you will analyze complex data sets, identify emerging trends, and provide actionable insights to support informed decision-making and strategic initiatives.
You'll also collaborate with cross-functional internal teams to uplift and optimize financial crime and safer gambling controls, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
You will engage external stakeholders in law enforcement, intelligence and regulatory bodies to proactively support their efforts to reduce criminal exploitation of the gambling industry.
Here is a taster of what you can expect in this role:
- Maintain specialist AML/CTF and regulatory knowledge with a focus on financial crime typologies and emerging risks.
- Utilize advanced analytical tools and methodologies to identify trends and emerging AML/CTF and safer gambling risks.
- Work collaboratively with the AML Risk and safer gambling teams to ensure continuous improvement of controls relevant to ML/TF and gambling harm.
- Support the AML Operations and safer gambling teams through the development of analytical, investigative and reporting tools relevant to transaction monitoring, customer screening and indicators of gambling harm.
- Develop, deliver and refine online and targeted AML/CTF training modules in consultation with Endeavour Capability Team for gaming employees across all ALH venues.
- Work collaboratively with internal data and technology stakeholders and external service providers to evaluate and implement technology solutions in support of Endeavour’s broader compliance obligations.
- Work collaboratively with Legal, Risk and Operations stakeholders to support uplift in governance and implementation of processes aligned with changes to AML/CTF and gambling laws.
- Deploy robust change management plans across the ALH business for implementation of uplifted AML/CTF and safer gambling processes, capability and technology.
- Maintain specialist knowledge with regard to ML/TF typologies relevant to Endeavour’s operating environment.
- Apply research and analysis skills to enhance and maintain the typology library and inform ALH’s controls framework with a specific focus on transaction monitoring and indicators of gambling harm.
- Harness internal data and SMR content to identify or predict emerging trends to inform resource decisions and technology solutions.
- Support AML Operations Team with escalated and/or complex investigations.
- Engage proactively with AUSTRAC, law enforcement, intelligence and State gaming bodies so support intelligence collection and disruption of criminal activity across ALH venues.
Now let’s talk about you:
- 5+ years experience in a financial crime, law enforcement or intelligence role.
- Bachelor's Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience.
- Knowledge of the AML/CTF and safer gambling regulatory environment in Australia.
- Experience in a Gambling environment, or understanding of the industry.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain strong relationships.
- Ability to continuously explore new ways to understand and deliver on changing customer needs.
- Stakeholder management skills to build and foster positive relationships.
- Strong initiative, time management and exceptional communication skills.
- Advanced data analytics and visualization skills and ability to work constructively with data/technology stakeholders.
- Experience enhancing organisational compliance capability (data, technology, training, intelligence), preferably in AML/CTF and Responsible Gambling.
