Full-Time Research Analyst - Smart Buildings

ABI Research seeks analysts covering the smart commercial buildings technology market.

Candidates will need to have a bachelor's degree as a minimum and will report to the Vice President, End Markets & Verticals.

Successful candidates will contribute to smart buildings innovation research areas and will work as a part of an ambitious team to produce premium quantitative and qualitative analysis.

Specific coverage areas will be determined based upon the candidate's interests, experience, and client demand.

Specific responsibilities include:

1. Author syndicated research reports, market forecasts, competitive analysis, and articles covering smart buildings technologies and markets with topics including connected sensors and connectivity technologies for HVAC, smart lighting, access control, security and fire safety; energy efficient and net-zero buildings; building automation hardware and software; and smart buildings design and management software (BIM, CAFM, digital twins, product lifecycle management, simulation software, generative design, and energy management).
2. Develop a deep understanding of the dynamics, requirements, and challenges within specific smart building verticals including office buildings and corporate campuses, datacenters, industrial buildings, government buildings, retail, hospitals, MDUs, hospitality, and venues.
3. Work on smart buildings custom research and consulting projects, providing leadership on approach and methodology.
4. Represent ABI Research as a key expert in our smart building technologies coverage area.
5. Interview key stakeholders across the entire smart buildings technology supply chain and understand how new smart buildings technologies will make their way into the marketplace.
6. Prepare presentations and participate in smart buildings technology conferences, webinars, and online events.
7. Be an active team member and own a significant part of the overall smart building technology research agenda, including commercial activities.
8. Support and share expertise with other ABI Research analysts.
9. Support sales, marketing, and business development activities by preparing customer-specific analysis, and by participating in key meetings with clients, prospects, and partners.

Desired Skills

• Eloquent and outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• At least basic skills and knowledge of forecasting and modeling in excel.
• Experience in both quantitative and qualitative analysis would be beneficial.
• Curiosity, passion and enthusiasm for technology innovation are musts for this role.
• Commercial attitude and skills in terms of networking and developing relationships with clients and prospects; understanding customer needs and translating them into compelling research deliverables.
