Ardent is seeking a Scrum Master to join our team. This is a remote position. This individual will serve as the team facilitator, ensuring Agile principles and best practices are followed to drive team performance, stakeholder collaboration, and incremental delivery of high-value solutions.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Serve as the Scrum Master for Agile teams, facilitating Scrum events including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Collaborate closely with Product Owners to ensure product backlogs are well-defined, prioritized, and actionable.
- Remove impediments to team progress and support a culture of continuous improvement.
- Track Agile metrics such as velocity, burn-down, and team performance to support reporting and stakeholder transparency.
- Foster strong communication and alignment within the team and across external stakeholders.
- Coach team members and stakeholders in Agile values, principles, and practices.
- Support user story development, acceptance criteria, and refinement sessions to ensure quality delivery.
- Utilize tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar for backlog management, documentation, and collaboration.
Requirements:
- Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), or equivalent Agile certification.
- 7+ years of experience facilitating Agile ceremonies and removing blockers for Agile teams.
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with Scrum, Kanban, and familiarity with SAFe.
- Proficiency in Agile project management tools such as Jira and Confluence.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage team dynamics and stakeholder relationships.
- Ability to support Agile delivery teams in a hybrid/distributed work environment.
- Prior experience on federal or DHS-related IT projects strongly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced Scrum certifications such as A-CSM, CSP, or equivalent.
- Experience with Lean or other Agile scaling frameworks (e.g., LeSS, SAFe).
- Background in software development or technical project delivery environments.
- Experience supporting Agile transformation initiatives in large government or enterprise settings.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline.
- All candidates must be willing to undergo the government issued background investigation process.
