The Security Operations Engineer is responsible for deploying, configuring, managing, and maintaining security solutions. Ensure security systems function correctly and vulnerabilities are addressed.
Work closely with IT colleagues to integrate security into infrastructure and act as guardians of the IT estate.
- Deploy and configure security solutions (firewalls, intrusion detection systems, antivirus software).
- Monitor security systems to identify and respond to incidents.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
- Develop and implement security policies and procedures.
- Investigate security incidents and develop remediation plans.
- Provide technical guidance and support to IT professionals.
Required skills include knowledge of security technologies (firewalls, intrusion detection, antivirus), networking and operating systems, security principles, analytical and problem-solving skills, effective communication and collaboration, and the ability to work under pressure and respond quickly to incidents.
Stay informed about current CVEs and emerging threats to safeguard the organization’s security posture.
Educational Backgrounds: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications (CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CCNA Security) are beneficial.
