Job Description
Create high-quality, key-frame animations that are visually impactful and data efficient, according to the requirements and vision set by the Directors.
Create animation storyboards/vignettes to assist Leads and Directors make timely and critical decisions.
Create custom rigs in Maya and/or UE5 while working closely with Tech Animators to develop/maintain workflows and tools.
Must be able to execute on prioritized work and be proactive to meet project deadlines.
Qualifications
B.A. in Art or Animation.
Shipped 1+ AA/AAA Unreal Engine 5 game on Console or PC in the last 3 years as a Senior 3D Animator.
Must have an up-to-date portfolio demonstrating excellent animation skills with exceptional foundational knowledge.
Expertise with creating and implementing key-frame animations in DCC (Maya/3DS Max/MotionBuilder), into UE5.
Expertise in creating and debugging custom rigs in DCC/UE5 and to solve issues quickly and efficiently.
Solid understanding of Kinesiology, body language, gravity and balance logic.
Experience with creating behavior trees and animation systems in UE5.
Proficiency with tools used for feedback, tracking, and integration. Shotgrid, JIRA, and Perforce experience is preferred.
Good communication and organizational skills in working with other animators throughout the entire game development process.
Nice to Have
Familiarity with emerging tools, techniques, and technologies that influence animation content creation.
Experience with creating cloth and hair simulations.
Solid knowledge in animation references coming from pop culture, animal kingdom and science.
