Full-Time Senior Analyst/Biostatistician

Altarum Institute's Applied Research and Analytics Practice Area seeks a Senior Analyst/Biostatistician. We aim to improve the health of marginalized populations through public health and healthcare delivery expertise to address health disparities and build better care systems.

Responsibilities include:

• Applying advanced statistical knowledge in survey sample design, data collection, processing, analysis, and interpretation.
• Advising clients on sample sizes for desired statistical outcomes.
• Leading research study design and quantitative projects.
• Developing sampling approaches (weighting data, sample size estimates, power calculations).
• Interpreting research results and creating visuals for non-technical audiences.
• Managing project timelines and processes.
• Summarizing project progress and results (monthly/annual) with clear narratives, charts, and visualizations.
• Mentoring junior analysts.
• Consulting with clients to define needs and analytic solutions.
• Overseeing research, studies, and evaluations.
• Participating in business development efforts (proposals, grants).

Qualifications include a PhD in Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Data Science, or related field with experience in conducting complex analyses (8+ years direct experience, with 5+ years post-doctoral experience). Strong analytical/critical thinking skills and knowledge of quantitative/qualitative research are essential. Experience with survey data collection and project management is required.

Skills include proficiency in SAS (required), STATA or SPSS (preferred), data visualization, and all basic office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Additional Requirements include a US Security Clearance, eligibility to work in the US, no sponsorship, work completed within the continental US, and flexibility with Eastern Time Zone.
