Acorns seeks a talented Senior Android Engineer to join our team. We are looking for someone who excels at building rich, scalable software and enjoys solving complex problems with simple, elegant solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Work on key product teams, developing new features.
• Participate in refining, grooming, and planning team tasks.
• Collaborate with Product and Design to define requirements.
• Work with managers and the team to set priorities, estimate timelines, and meet deadlines.
• Mentor less senior team members.

Qualifications:

• 7-9 years of professional software experience, with 5+ years focused on native Android development in Kotlin.
• Deep understanding of native Android application development.
• Proficient in designing and developing high-performance, dynamic UIs with Jetpack Compose.
• Strong OO application design and development skills.
• Experience with collaborative team environments, using version control systems like Git.
• Thorough knowledge of modern architectural patterns (MVVM, Repository, Inversion of Control).
• Extensive experience in unit testing (screenshot testing a plus).
• Familiarity with continuous integration, monitoring, and metrics tools (Amplitude, Datadog).
• Experience in trunk-based development and feature flag driven organizations.
• Understanding of dependency injection (Dagger experience a plus).
• Solutions-oriented approach, committed to quality and precise delivery.
• Passion for creating high-impact products and driving key metrics.
