Full-Time Senior Backend Engineer (Python)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to develop production-level microservices in Python for our Delivery Promise team in Logistics.

The team is cross-functional, comprising software engineers, applied scientists, and product/design/analytics personnel. We develop and deploy machine learning models for estimating delivery times and running experiments to evaluate performance. The team works on initiatives improving delivery selection and affordability.

You'll play a key role in solving complex delivery estimation problems, ensuring our ML services are performant and scalable, and managing consumer-facing and logistics experiments.

The role bridges Logistics, Consumer, and Merchant platforms, presenting diverse challenges.

This role offers significant impact by building new services to improve customer experience and operations.

Location Options: Helsinki, Berlin, or Stockholm.

Remote/Hybrid Options Available: Details on our setup are available.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Python expertise (Flask & FastAPI)
• Experience designing and building high-quality software and production-level microservices
• Proficiency with cloud infrastructure (e.g., Kubernetes in AWS)
• Experience with databases like MongoDB and PostgreSQL
• Familiarity with messaging systems like Kafka and Redis
• Willingness to learn other languages like Kotlin
