Full-Time Senior Cloud Network Engineer

T-Rex Solutions is seeking a Senior Cloud Network Engineer to support the US Department of the Treasury TCloud enterprise cloud development effort. This role focuses on multi-cloud solutions for the Treasury Department.

Responsibilities:

• Manage configuration, installation, and ongoing support of network infrastructure (Palo Alto firewalls, Cisco VPN Concentrators, Cisco CSR devices, AWS & Azure networking).
• Design and deploy various network technologies in cloud platforms.
• Implement cloud security best practices.
• Monitor network performance, identify issues, and implement corrective actions.
• Demonstrate in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with major cloud platforms (AWS and Azure).
• Understand networking protocols and technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, BGP, OSPF).
• Have a strong understanding of VPCs and subnets for performance and security.
• Experience with SDN and virtual networking concepts.
• Work with IAM in cloud environments.
• Install network devices and services (routers, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS).
• Perform network maintenance, system upgrades, and security configurations for third-party devices in cloud platforms.
• Collaborate with existing network administrators and engineers to manage, deploy, and troubleshoot.
• Monitor performance, ensure system availability, and reliability.
• Monitor system resource utilization and capacity planning.
• Provide Level 2/3 support and troubleshooting.

Requirements:

• US Citizen with ability to obtain Public Trust clearance.
• Bachelor's degree and 8+ years or Master's degree and 6+ years of related experience.
• Strong Terraform experience.
• Experience with cloud or on-prem devices (Cisco, Palo Alto firewalls).
• Advanced experience with at least two of: EIGRP, MPLS, BGP, OSPF.
• Working technical knowledge of TCP/IP networks and standards (IEEE 802.1).
• Familiarity with network topologies (MPLS, Frame Relay, ATM, ISDN).
• Working knowledge of DoD STIGs and IAVM.
• Experience with Cisco ASA and Palo Alto firewalls.
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco IPsec (AES 256), firewalls, IPS, route-maps, and NACLs.
• Expert knowledge of TCP/IP network technologies (DNS, DHCP, TFTP, NAT, SSL).

Desired:

• AWS Cloud Practitioner or Azure Fundamentals certification.
• CCNP or higher (CCIE and/or CISSP highly valued).
