The Role: As Thrive Market grows, you will build the data infrastructure. We have a transparent, data-centric environment. You will build out our data warehouse for business department reporting. Influence business strategy and product management efforts, leveraging industry best practices. This role is about empowering others with data analysis and helping people understand information at the right moment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end data projects, managing timelines and priorities with stakeholders.
- Deliver high-quality data insights and scalable data products for decision-making.
- Identify and resolve data integrity and performance issues.
- Collaborate with data management to ensure enterprise standards.
- Perform data source gap analysis and create data source catalogs and mappings.
- Understand cross-system integration and relationships to develop future data needs.
- Develop user behavior insights and correlate metrics with conversion rates, customer lifetime value, and financial performance.
- Develop dashboards, visualizations, and datasets for subscriber acquisition and user flow enhancements.
- Provide accurate and relevant information to Product Management teams.
- Design, test, and deploy new reports for a state-of-the-art reporting environment.
- Respond to ad-hoc reporting needs while ensuring data accuracy.
- Leverage external data to identify assortment gaps and category opportunities.
- Create price optimization tools and analysis for pricing decisions.
- Partner with Finance to translate product decisions into member and financial impact.
- Develop dashboards, visualizations, and datasets for merchandising, category behavior, and margin opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Master's or PhD degree in a relevant field (e.g., statistics, computer science).
- 7+ years of experience in data science or analytics.
- Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Java, Scala, Python, C++) and SQL.
- Experience with large-scale data analysis (e.g., Hive, Spark).
- Experience in e-commerce, subscription businesses, billing cycles, and payments.
- Experience with Snowflake or similar databases, ETL, and advanced SQL.
- Strong data visualization skills (e.g., Domo, Tableau).
- Excellent communication and analytical skills.
- Passion for turning data into insights.
