Job Details
We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to drive RDBMS, Warehousing, and Big Data solutions for our global BookData business. You'll work with and be responsible for curating the world's largest English-language bibliographic metadata and book sales measurement data sets.
This is a remote position based in the UK with occasional travel to central London.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop enterprise database solutions
- Optimize data storage and retrieval processes
- Troubleshoot performance issues
- Implement data privacy and security measures
- Participate in cross-functional projects with other developers
- Contribute to overall data architecture and standards
- Report daily progress and blockers to scrum master
Required skills/experience:
- 7+ years in a Data Engineering role
- SQL
- Data Modeling
- ETL
- Oracle RDBMS (Postgres or SQLServer also considered)
- Data Warehousing Design
- Excellent communication (written and verbal)
- Strong analytical skills
Desirable:
- Microsoft Fabric
- PowerBI / Tabular Editor / ALM Toolkit
- Spark/Hadoop or other big data solutions
- Java or Python coding skills
- Familiarity with the book industry
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
