Full-Time Senior DBA (PostgresDB, BigQuery) with GCP

Role: Senior Database Administrator

Experience: 10 to 12 Years

Work Location: Chennai (Hybrid)

Working hours: (From 5.00pm to 2am IST Shift)

Minimum Experience: Minimum of 12 years of working experience in IT. Minimum of 10 years of experience in administering, managing, securing, and tuning database servers (MS SQL Server, MySQL, & Postgres). Minimum of 3 years of cloud platform experience in CloudSQL/GCP or RDS/AWS.

Preferred Scripting Experiences: Python and PowerShell.

1. Install, configure, and maintain database instances across various environments.
2. Monitor database performance, identify and resolve issues related to performance, capacity, and reliability.
3. Implement and manage database backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and availability.
4. Implement and manage database security policies, including user access control, data encryption, and auditing.
5. Identify and implement optimizations to improve database performance, such as index tuning and query optimization.
6. Maintain documentation of database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
7. Apply patches and updates to SQL Server instances in a timely manner to address security vulnerabilities and ensure compliance.
8. Good understanding of database design – physical and logical schemas, and database modeling.
9. Collaborate with developers to design and optimize database schemas and provide guidance on SQL best practices.
10. Experience in query optimization and writing complex SQL queries.
11. Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, blocking, and deadlocking issues, as well as performance issues.
12. Strong knowledge of indexes, index management, and configuration management.
13. Experience in SSAS, SSIS, SSRS.
14. GCP's Data warehouse platform experience is a plus (BigQuery, DataFusion, DataStream, DataFlow, & Looker)
15. Work on projects as needed in close coordination with Architects, Project Managers, Application Architects, and Development teams.
16. Ensure team collaboration using Jira, Confluence, and other tools.
17. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in computer science.
18. Position Details: This is an exempt position (40 hours+/week) and is not eligible for overtime. You will participate in a Managed Objective Bonus program. Days of work are Monday through Friday.
