About the role:Senior Director, Business Intelligence and Strategic Analytics
Reports to: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Foodsmart is investing in the next phase of our data and analytics strategy—and we’re looking for a Senior Director, Business Intelligence and Strategic Analytics to lead this transformation and build a high-performing analytics and insights function. This leader will report to the CFO and work closely with the executive team to enable smarter, faster, and more data-driven decisions across the organization.
This is a business analytics role where the leader will own the analytics layer of the company: designing scalable reporting systems, leading our team of analysts and data scientists, driving insights that inform strategy and operations, and building a culture of data-driven decision-making across Foodsmart.
The Data Engineering team, reporting to the CTO, will continue to own the company’s data infrastructure, pipelines, warehousing, and tooling architecture.
You will:
- Build and lead a centralized Business Intelligence function that partners across departments including Clinical Operations, Finance, Product, Strategy, and Client Development and Implementation Services.
- Translate business needs into scalable data products, dashboards, and insight-generation tools to drive organizational performance.
- Partner with senior leaders to surface actionable insights and guide data-driven decisions on key business priorities such as growth strategy, clinical efficiency, and client performance.
- Lead strategic deep dives and ad hoc analysis to evaluate business performance, assess opportunities, and inform roadmap prioritization.
- Own the BI toolset (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI), standardize definitions and KPIs, and lead the governance of company-wide reporting.
- Direct a team of analysts and data scientists, prioritizing high-impact work that supports strategic initiatives, forecasting, and operational excellence.
- Partner with FP&A to enhance forecasting capabilities and expand forward-looking decision support.
- Collaborate with Data Engineering to align on requirements for data modeling and infrastructure that enable efficient analytics and reporting.
- Establish a reporting framework that reduces manual reporting, enhances organizational alignment, and delivers timely insights to senior leadership.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation in analytics, experimentation, and predictive modeling to optimize business outcomes.
You are:
- A strategic and execution-oriented leader with experience building and scaling analytics functions in complex, data-rich environments.
- Skilled in translating business problems into data solutions—and vice versa.
- Comfortable partnering across functions, especially Finance, Clinical Programs, Operations, and Technology.
- Adept at both leading high-level strategy and getting into the details to ensure quality and relevance.
- A strong collaborator with technical and non-technical teams alike, capable of aligning business needs with data capabilities.
You have:
- 10+ years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, or healthcare economics roles, ideally with experience in healthcare or tech-enabled services.
- Proven track record of building centralized BI functions that drive measurable business outcomes.
- Experience managing teams of analysts, data scientists, and BI developers, with a focus on impact and innovation.
- Strong command of BI tools and frameworks (e.g., Looker, Tableau, dbt, SQL) and understanding of data governance best practices.
- A mindset of continuous improvement, with a focus on scalability, efficiency, and impact.
- Experience working alongside Data Engineering teams, with a clear understanding of role boundaries and collaboration points.
- Strong strategic thinking skills and the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights that influence executive decision-making.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate analytical findings into compelling narratives for diverse audiences.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment where priorities shift and cross-functional collaboration is key.
