Job Details
Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for applying accounting principles for general accounting duties.
Works closely with the Business Controller for a specific SGS business to complete timely and accurate monthly financial statements, including related work papers for assigned general ledger areas.
Performs Fixed Assets Audits and ad hoc reporting.
Complies with Finance North America requirements and deadlines.
Assists Business Controller with month-end financial reporting and analysis, including report/schedule generation and reconciliation, general ledger transaction research, and necessary adjustments.
Prepares fixed asset capitalization and maintenance reports. Works with finance and operations teams to capitalize assets properly and in a timely manner when ready for use.
Performs annual fixed asset reviews, and collaborates with teams to retire or write off unused assets.
Supports internal departments by providing financial guidance and accurate results.
Analyzes actual results compared to expected performance and communicates areas for improvement.
Assists the Business Controller in the entire financial cycle, including budgeting/forecasting, internal/external audits, account analysis and reconciliations, inventory management, and other financial processes.
May train junior team members.
Complies with SGS Code of Integrity and Professional Conduct. Adheres to internal standards, policies, and procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
7+ years of experience, including month-end/year-end close experience
2-3 years' experience with financial systems (Oracle Projects)
