About the RoleThe Sr. Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) Analyst analyzes healthcare data to assess the economic and clinical outcomes of treatments, interventions, and programs.
A Day in the Life
- Collect, clean, and analyze large healthcare datasets (medical claims/encounter data, pharmacy, patient registries) using statistical methods.
- Conduct descriptive and inferential statistical analyses to evaluate healthcare utilization, treatment effectiveness, cost-effectiveness, and patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external clients to design and execute HEOR studies, ensuring alignment with research objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare comprehensive reports, presentations, and visualizations to effectively communicate findings to decision-makers.
- Support business growth through strong client relationships.
- Stay updated on HEOR trends, methodologies, and best practices to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Adhere to data privacy and regulatory guidelines.
What You Need
- Formal training in statistics, mathematics, epidemiology, health economics, public health, or a related field.
- Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in quantitative fields (e.g., Health Economics, statistics, Operational Research, Mathematics, data science, Biostatistics, epidemiology) preferred.
- 4+ years hands-on experience in healthcare data analysis, preferably in HEOR, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or biotechnology.
- Proficiency in statistical software (SAS, R, STATA, or Python), including data manipulation, regression analysis, and predictive modeling.
- Familiarity with healthcare databases and coding systems (e.g., ICD, CPT, HCPCS).
- Experience with Medicare and Medicaid data preferred.
- Strong analytical skills, interpreting complex healthcare data and generating actionable insights.
