The Senior Research Coordinator will lead research verticals focused on civic data extraction, normalization, and ingestion. This person will work with a team to build a comprehensive database of U.S. government officeholders, candidates, and places. Civitech is remote-first, hiring within 24 states (AK, CA, CO, DC, DE, FL, HI, IL, MA, MD, MN, ND, NH, NJ, NV, NY, OH, SD, TN, TX, VA, WA, WI, WY). We have an office in Austin, TX. About our Data Acquisition Team: The Data Acquisition team focuses on extracting, normalizing, ingesting, and refreshing civic data. This includes data on officeholders and candidates from federal to local levels.
What You Will Do:
- Research (35%): Lead complex research projects. Design and lead QA processes. Identify process inefficiencies and implement improvements. Use tools (SQL, web scrapers, internal data platforms, Google Sheets) to extract, clean, and upload data. Troubleshoot data issues and improve data quality.
- Project Management and Cross-Team Collaboration (45%): Lead research verticals (e.g., Candidate Research, Office Holders, Early Voting) to ensure accurate, timely data delivery. Delegate tasks, monitor progress, and find solutions to meet deadlines. Independently develop project checkpoints, milestones, and dashboards for progress communication. Scope new research projects. Manage remote contractors, provide communication, feedback, and recognition.
- Management (20%): Foster a positive team culture, focused on feedback, learning, and continuous improvement. Serve as a manager, supervisor, or mentor. Regularly train others on data processes and tools. Contribute to the development and upskilling of junior colleagues.
