Full-Time Senior Security Software Engineer

The Information Security Strategy and Analytics team is looking for an experienced technologist with expertise in software engineering and application security to help improve security at AbbVie.

Role Responsibilities:

• Building and operationalizing tools to monitor security controls, automate processes, and collect data for analysis and reporting.
• Collaborating with data engineers and analysts to design and build impactful metrics and reporting (focus on technical security control coverage and application security).
• Creating scalable, maintainable, and secure solutions.
• Developing and maintaining clear and usable documentation.
• Collaborating with other teams across information security and information technology to drive increased maturity.

• API and website development (traditional and cloud-native)

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree + 7 years experience, Master's + 6 years, or PhD + 2 years in software engineering and information security.
• Strong understanding of modern software development and application security best practices.
• In-depth understanding of enterprise IT, including security integration.
• Proficient in Python for automation, integration, and data analysis.
• Experience building secure APIs and websites.
• Strong communication skills, including presenting to senior leadership.

Beneficial:

• Experience creating clear reporting for senior leadership.
• Cloud-based solution development (AWS preferred).
