Full-Time Senior Software Engineer, Platform

About the Role:We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer, Platform to lead the development and optimization of our AWS cloud infrastructure. You will leverage your expertise in cloud technologies, specifically AWS, to drive architectural decisions, automate infrastructure, and implement cutting-edge solutions to enhance platform reliability, scalability, and performance. As a senior team member, you will collaborate with leadership, mentor junior engineers, and play a key role in shaping the future of our cloud strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead the design and implementation of highly available, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure in AWS, aligning with business needs and best practices.
2. Architect cloud solutions optimized for performance, security, and cost-efficiency, encompassing multi-region, multi-account, and hybrid cloud architectures.
3. Drive automation initiatives, developing robust Infrastructure as Code (IaC) frameworks using AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, or Ansible to automate provisioning, scaling, and monitoring of cloud resources.
4. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to platform engineers, guiding them on cloud best practices, security, DevOps methodologies, and problem-solving.
5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, development, security) to ensure seamless service and application integration with the cloud infrastructure.
6. Oversee CI/CD pipeline implementation and management, ensuring fast, reliable, and automated deployment processes.
7. Lead complex troubleshooting and performance tuning efforts for cloud infrastructure and applications, maintaining high reliability and performance.
8. Implement security best practices for cloud infrastructure, including monitoring, logging, and incident response, collaborating with security and compliance teams.
9. Evaluate and integrate new AWS services and emerging cloud technologies to enhance platform capabilities and promote continuous improvement.
10. Develop and enforce governance models for cloud environments, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
11. Act as the subject matter expert (SME) on AWS, guiding executives and stakeholders on cloud strategy and infrastructure investments.
12. API Management and Contract-First Approach: Oversee API architecture and implementation following a contract-first approach. Collaborate with teams to define API contracts using tools like Swagger or Open API, ensuring API design, security, and scalability meet enterprise standards.
13. Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Evaluate and integrate new AWS services, IAM tools, and emerging cloud technologies to enhance platform capabilities, improve API ecosystems, and drive innovation.
14. Governance and Compliance: Develop and enforce governance models for cloud environments and APIs, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
