The Team This role will be part of the Security Engineering Org reporting to the Senior Manager of Public Cloud Security Engineering. The security engineering team targets building state-of-the-art technology to reduce risk surrounding sensitive assets with minimal operational impact, acts as guidance and facilitator to security operations teams, and helps shift Security perception from blocker to enabler by building trust with other teams.
The Role The Senior Staff Cloud Security Engineer plays a technical role in the ServiceNow Public Cloud Security Engineering team responsible for cloud security solutions securing ServiceNow Public Cloud across all major CSPs - Azure, AWS, and GCP. You work alongside the team, leveraging leading industry practices and cutting-edge solutions to secure ServiceNow's public cloud footprint.
- Develop Strategy and Vision for securing ServiceNow public clouds based on security risk, industry trends, and compliance requirements.
- Provide technical expertise throughout the design, implementation, and delivery of scalable security controls and solutions.
- Transform business requirements and functional specifications into security designs.
- Work with the Security Engineering team to support internal and external stakeholders.
- Influence key technical decisions and drive cross-functional execution to build and manage cutting-edge security solutions.
- Partake in efforts shaping the organization's security policies and standards for hybrid cloud environments.
- Strategically address global events and trends impacting the industry and challenge the org to address issues with a broad global view.
- Contribute to the team's 3-year roadmap.
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- Experience leveraging or critically thinking about integrating AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving (using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI's potential impact on the function/industry).
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology and 12+ years of work experience; or equivalent work experience of 15+ years to demonstrate domain expertise.
- Extensive knowledge of multiple public clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP) foundation services related to compute, network, storage, content delivery, administration, security, deployment, and management, and automation technologies.
- In-depth knowledge of operating systems (Linux, UNIX, Windows).
- In-depth knowledge of networking (routing, switching, load-balancing, intrusion detection systems, firewalls).
- Proficient in programming languages and scripting (JavaScript, Python, Bash, C/C++), and common CI/CD practices.
- Experience in infrastructure automation tools (AWS CloudFormation, Terraform).
- Experience with containerization on Cloud, AKS, or EKS (Dedicated/Managed/Serverless Kubernetes).
- Experience with Cloud Security Posture Management.
- Experience with cloud native security services and commonly used 3rd party Security tools (Wiz, Prisma, Crowdstrike, Illumio).
- Design security architecture for hybrid clouds.
- Automating operations and capacity planning.
- Ability to leverage the latest AI technologies to enhance cloud security monitoring solutions.
- (Optional) Experience with ServiceNow platform development.
- (Optional) Cloud Certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP).
