We're seeking a smart, research-driven SEO Content Writer who can create high-impact, accurate legal content that connects with everyday users. While legal experience is not required, strong research skills and a deep understanding of how to write for the web are essential.
Top priority: Rebounding and growing organic traffic. We need writers who understand search intent and can break down complex legal topics into accessible content for non-expert readers.
Scope and Duration: Full-time, 40 hrs/week.
What you'll do:
- Write ~4 long-form articles (1,000–2,000 words) per week, plus contribute to refreshes, edits, and occasional micro-content.
- Conduct keyword research and outlining before drafting.
- Rebound organic traffic through strategic SEO content, focusing on creating content that ranks, drives traffic, and leads users down the conversion funnel.
- Own the workflow: Receive topic, conduct keyword research, submit outline, incorporate feedback, draft article, revise with feedback from editors and SMEs.
- Conduct deep research from credible sources, legal documents, and competitor content to build trustworthy articles.
- Translate complex topics into clear language for non-legal audiences.
- Collaborate with editors on voice, style, and formatting; ask SMEs clarifying questions.
- Format and publish in WordPress; ensure content is QA'd and styled properly.
- Use data to guide decisions leveraging tools like Ahrefs, SEMrush, and Google Search Console.
Who you are:
- Based in the US or Canada (no visa sponsorship available)
- 2+ years of experience in SEO content writing (legal writing is a plus, but not required)
- Excellent research and writing skills, with the ability to self-educate quickly
- Strong understanding of SEO principles, especially search intent and keyword targeting
- Experience using tools like Ahrefs, SEMrush, and Google Search Console
- Familiar with WordPress, Google Docs, and collaborative workflows
- Confident identifying areas of uncertainty and asking for help
- Organized, responsive, and able to manage multiple assignments in a remote-first team
