ServiceNow Consultant will work across Unit4 ServiceNow applications and services to develop new functionalities and innovative solutions, meeting product owner and project stakeholder requirements.
The consultant will collaborate with the Platform team, process owners, Enterprise Architecture, and IT Security to create technical designs and development, focusing on effectiveness and security.
The Consultant will consider current business needs and architecture, reviewing future enhancement roadmaps and assessing platform/application changes due to version upgrades.
- Designs, develops, configures, and customizes ServiceNow applications to deliver new functionality.
- Collaborates with business process owners to refine requirements aligned with the overall strategy and product roadmap.
- Assists with second-level incident resolution, problem root cause analysis, and post-change validation.
- Provides on-call support for critical production issues.
- Assists the platform team in estimating release effort.
- Follows and improves architecture, design, documentation, and coding standards.
- Ensures proper quality assurance (unit, system integration, regression, and user acceptance) with the platform team.
- Reviews, validates, and remediates version and patch upgrades for assigned applications.
- Develops solutions with automation in mind.
- Designs and configures workflows, flows, forms, scripts, ACLs, data transformation, policies, rules, scheduled jobs, and other underlying logic using Agile methodologies.
- Gains knowledge of external implementation partner development work.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Strong technical foundation and knowledge of the ServiceNow platform and architecture.
- Knowledge of Agile and Scrum development.
- Ability to learn and adapt to new ServiceNow-related technologies.
- Development skills in scripting, business rules, data imports, ACLs, data policies, UI policies, data import/transformation, logging, error remediation, data encryption, flow designer (Integration Hub spokes), notifications, SLAs, metrics, database views, assessments, forms, workflows, and language translations.
- Understanding of database design schemas and ServiceNow's Common Service Data Model (CSDM).
- Development skills in JavaScript, Web Services, HTML, CSS, and Jelly.
- Strong business acumen.
- 5+ years of relevant experience or equivalent.
- Certified ServiceNow Developer or Implementer.
- ITIL Foundations Certification recommended.
- Strong understanding of the ServiceNow Application Suite (Customer Service Management, HRSD, etc.).
- Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize.
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral, in English).
