The Social Media Specialist plays a critical and dynamic role in enhancing our online presence and engaging with our target audience across various social media platforms, with a special focus on advancing medical education and promoting events for physicians. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing social media strategies that align with our business objectives, drive brand and event awareness, and foster community engagement within the medical communities we serve. This includes creating and promoting content related to medical education, sponsorships, and educational conferences for physicians. You will drive new initiatives and projects across multiple social and web channels for our brands, leveraging your expertise to elevate our marketing efforts. Ideally, you will have strong creative design skills as well as excellent social media knowledge to assist in task overflow and completion.

Role Requirements
- Responsible for social media and communication channels such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Mailchimp, Hootsuite, WordPress, Google Business, etc.
- Collaborate with the wider marketing team and Brand leaders to develop comprehensive social media strategies that support brand awareness, lead generation, and customer engagement within the medical field.
- Create compelling and relevant content for social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube. This includes written posts, graphics, videos, and other multimedia content focused on medical topics, sponsorships, and educational events for physicians.
- Plan and execute social media campaigns, contests, and promotions related to medical conferences and sponsorships to drive engagement and generate leads.
- Monitor social media channels, respond to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely and professional manner, and foster meaningful interactions with our audience.
- Monitor social media metrics, track campaign performance, and provide regular reports and insights to optimize strategies and achieve KPIs.
- Stay informed about industry trends, social media best practices, and emerging platforms to ensure our strategies remain relevant and effective.
- Work closely with internal teams, including marketing, content creation, and sales, to align social media efforts with overall business goals and initiatives, particularly those involving medical education and physician engagement.
- Assist with overflow in other marketing areas including graphic design, copywriting, and marketing projects as needed.

The salary range for this position is $46,000–$60,000 depending on experience.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree or above in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a social media specialist or similar role, preferably in the medical or healthcare industry.
- Proven experience with Adobe Creative Suite and Canva (emphasis on InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator).
- Intermediate HTML and CSS.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms, algorithms, and best practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create engaging content tailored to different audiences.
- Proficiency in social media management tools and analytics platforms.
- Creative thinker with a passion for innovation and staying ahead of trends.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to drive decision-making.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to coordinate schedules and production timelines.
- Must be able to work with multiple team members in a multitude of capacities.
- Familiarity with Asana, HubSpot, and AdRoll a plus.
