Full-Time Software Engineer - Content Management

The Software Engineer - Content Management will oversee the design, implementation, optimization, and maintenance of structured content databases.

This individual will play a key role in managing content repositories, ensuring seamless integration with content management systems (CMS), and supporting organizational goals by ensuring the availability, security, and performance of database infrastructure.

1. Database Design and Management
2. Develop and maintain structured content databases to support dynamic content delivery and reuse.
3. Design scalable database schemas to store and manage structured content such as XML, JSON, and DITA-based information.
4. Optimize database performance, ensuring high availability and reliability.
5. Manage data modeling, indexing, and version control for structured content.
6. Integration and Development
7. Integrate databases with content management systems (e.g., Adobe Experience Manager, SDL Tridion Docs, or other CCMS platforms).
8. Collaborate with developers to implement database-driven workflows and automated content delivery pipelines.
9. Ensure seamless integration between databases, APIs, and enterprise applications.

11. Maintenance and Optimization
12. Monitor database performance and execute tuning to maintain optimal efficiency.
13. Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, including data integrity and application performance problems.
14. Plan and implement database upgrades, migrations, and patches.
15. Security and Compliance
16. Implement and maintain robust database security measures to protect sensitive information.
17. Ensure compliance with data governance, privacy laws, and industry regulations.
18. Regularly audit database access and security protocols.
19. Collaboration and Leadership
20. Lead cross-functional teams to define database requirements and implement solutions.
21. Mentor junior database administrators and provide training on best practices for structured content management.
22. Act as the subject matter expert for structured content databases within the organization.

Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field

10+ years of experience in database design and administration with a focus on structured content

Proven experience working with structured content formats (XML, JSON, DITA, etc.) and content repositories.

Expertise in database technologies such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MarkLogic, or similar platforms.

Strong understanding of structured content workflows and schema design.

Proficiency in database scripting languages (SQL, PL/SQL, or T-SQL) and query optimization.

Familiarity with CMS/CCMS platforms and their database requirements.

Highly proficient user of Tridion Docs.

Experience with API integration and database connectivity.

Knowledge of data security standards and practices.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with cloud-based databases (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, or similar).
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools for database automation.
• Certifications in database administration or content management (e.g., Oracle DBA, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator).
• Experience with RWS Tridion Docs, Adobe Experience Manager, Content Cloud, Titan CMS or similar systems.

RRD's current salary range for this role is $141,000 to $225,600 / year.
