Full-Time Software Engineer II, Android

Toast is building the restaurant platform that helps restaurants adapt, take control, and get back to what they do best: building their businesses. Toast Now puts the power of the entire Toast platform into the pockets of restaurant managers and operators. Managers track restaurant performance in real-time and fine-tune operations from the restaurant floor. The app also helps staff quickly diagnose and fix issues with Toast Customer Care.

We use native mobile apps for a rich UX, making it easier to run a thriving restaurant with great guest service and a strong bottom line. Our team is agile and customer-obsessed, striving for high customer satisfaction and delivering high-quality features in rapid cycles.

Our products are built on Jetpack Compose and use GraphQL for the backend.

Responsibilities:

• Ship code impacting restaurant success.
• Drive new feature delivery (tech design, coding, testing, rollout).
• Collaborate with UX, PM, QA, and other engineers.
• Champion best development, deployment, and quality practices.
• Mentor less-experienced engineers.

Requirements:

• Typically 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Building high-quality native Android experiences.
• Experience with mobile testing culture in an agile environment.
• Experience with backend technologies (GraphQL, Kotlin microservices, Javascript/Typescript - helpful but not required).

Compensation:

Base salary range: $115,000-$184,000 USD.
