Solutions Consultant is the evolution of the traditional Sales Engineering role, aligning how we best serve our customers in understanding their environment, providing solution guidance and ensuring value realization.
Impact:
- Meet and exceed sales quotas by building and implementing strategic, technical account plans targeting cross-platform solutions.
- Understand key customer business requirements, position, demonstrate, and create high-level designs across the entire PANW portfolio.
- Drive customer adoption of the Palo Alto Networks platform.
- Build customer relationships by improving productivity, operational efficiency, security efficacy, and flexibility.
- Conduct discovery to understand customer technical, operational, and commercial imperatives.
- Collaborate with Professional Services, Customer Success, and Specialist teams for implementation and adoption.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills and influence through presentations and demos.
- Conduct clear and impactful technical engagements and workshops.
- Lead successful technical validation efforts based on best practices.
- Demonstrate cross-functional leadership.
- Promote end-to-end solutions.
- Understand the competitive landscape and differentiate PANW's leadership.
- Develop technical and professional skills.
- Identify technical stakeholders and build relationships.
Experience:
- 6+ years experience in pre-sales/sales engineering
- Strong understanding of data networking, security architectures, and modern cloud computing.
- Experience in delivering cybersecurity solutions, influencing new business initiatives.
- Influence key stakeholders.
- Create and deliver technical presentations, workshops, or technical validation engagements.
- Experience in selling, designing, implementing, or managing solutions: Network Security, SASE, SaaS, CNAPP, and/or SOC Transformation.
- Partner with Customer Support functions.
- Experience in complex sales with multiple buying centers and multi-product solutions.

Skills: Strong communication, presentation, problem-solving, and technical skills.
Compensation: Starting base salary (non-sales) or base salary + commission target (sales) between $198,000 - $273,000/YR. May include restricted stock units and a bonus.
