Job Details
SQL Database Administrator II, participates in design, development, implementation, review, and monitoring of database environments. Collaborates with software development, data engineering, and QA teams to ensure efficient operation and provide best practices.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, maintain, and monitor database servers (Production, QA, Development).
- Ensure High Availability and meet SLAs.
- Design and implement monitoring solutions for HA and SLA goals.
- Review and audit all environments for security best practices.
- Assist in T-SQL development, review, testing, and deployment; support SQL CI/CD lifecycle.
- Guide developers in query/procedure best practices.
- Identify and address system performance bottlenecks.
- Assist in system capacity planning.
- Create and implement new environments based on business needs.
- Design and implement data system integration.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years hands-on SQL Server experience.
- Strong knowledge of MS SQL Server, T-SQL, PowerShell, and coding best practices.
- Knowledge of MySQL & Postgres preferred.
- Strong knowledge of AWS Cloud services (RDS, EC2).
- Experience with source control (GitHub) for database scripts and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions).
- Strong understanding of SQL Server HA and DR technologies (availability groups, backups, restores, FCI, log shipping, mirroring, replication).
- Strong SQL Server administration skills (backups, restores, snapshots, user/role security, access permissions).
- Understanding of SQL Server concurrency, transactions, and locking.
- Experience with SQL Server debugging and tracing.
- Experience with full-text search and XML in SQL Server.
- Experience in SQL performance analysis and optimization.
- Associate's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Experience using Atlassian Jira & Confluence.
