Full-Time SQL Database Administrator

Database Administrator

Support production and development database environments for performance, availability, reliability, and security. Collaborate with development, QA, and engineering teams for smooth releases and efficient system operations.

Responsibilities:

• Take full ownership of DBA tasks for specific product lines.
• Monitor, tune, and maintain SQL Server environments (production and development).
• Manage database user access, roles, and permissions.
• Design and optimize database schemas, indexes, and objects.
• Oversee backup and recovery processes for business continuity.
• Collaborate with engineering and QA for smooth product releases.
• Import/export data to support business operations.
• Troubleshoot customer database issues.
• Participate in maintenance activities and on-call rotations.
• Configure and maintain failover clustering.
• Support server upgrades, migrations, and security patches.
• Contribute to team knowledge sharing.
• Provide input for incident resolution and post-mortems.

Skills:

• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
• Deep understanding of SQL Server internals (indexing, statistics, tempdb, transaction logs).
• SQL query optimization using execution plans, Query Store, and SQL Profiler.
• SQL Server management in cloud environments (SQL Azure, AWS RDS).
• Proficient in 2-3 relational database technologies (primary focus on SQL Server).
• Experience with cross-functional teams (developers, DevOps, infrastructure).
• Strong initiative and self-direction for SQL Server projects.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills (technical and non-technical audiences).
• Commitment to continuous learning.

Experience & Education:

• 3-5 years SQL Server DBA experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
