Full-Time SQL Developer, Financial Reporting

Brightspeed is seeking a skilled SQL Developer, Financial Reporting to join our growing team! As part of the Financial Business Intelligence Team, you will play a critical role in the design and development of complex queries to organize and retrieve data for financial reporting.

You will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including IT, Finance, and Business partners on various projects, including the buildout and automation of financial reporting, data migrations, and database/query optimization.

Responsibilities:

• Writing complex SQL queries based on business and reporting needs
• Troubleshooting and resolving data-related issues
• Gathering requirements and prioritizing enhancement/development requests with cross-functional teams
• Analyzing data from multiple sources, managing nuances, and maintaining data integrity
• Creating and maintaining documentation for queries, data, and requirements
• Optimizing queries and documenting schemas
• Supporting and testing data/report migrations with IT

Skills and Experience:

• 5+ years of progressive experience in SQL, including designing, developing, and troubleshooting complex queries
• Experience with BigQuery for data retrieval
• Experience with major data migrations involving business and IT stakeholders
• Solid understanding of database design principles and data modeling
• Experience in query planning and optimization
• Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
• Strong attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills
• Initiative and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Experience in SAP or Power BI a plus
