The Data and Analytics Team (D&A) at NBCUniversal is looking for a passionate cloud data expert. Reporting to the AI Governance Engineering Manager, this role will drive product usability and innovation within the Data Analytics space.
The D&A team supports NBCU's vast portfolio of brands (broadcast, cable, news, streaming, sports, film studios, theme parks, etc.). They provide data to advise and shape strategic business decisions.
As the Senior Cloud Governance Engineer, you'll work with internal stakeholders, data engineers, visualization experts, data scientists, and technologists across the business.
Responsibilities:
- Build Cloud Tagging frameworks and work with engineering teams.
- Develop a robust program for D&A Cloud management (monitoring, alerting, governance, budgets, change management, cost optimization, show-backs, charge-backs).
- Work on Cloud Usage reporting to measure cloud cost-related insights, metrics, and KPIs.
- Work on automation solutions for Cloud usage (AWS, Python, Databricks).
- Work on Snowflake optimizations at a warehouse/database level.
- Coordinate cloud issue resolution.
- Setup and monitor data shares/snowpipes for Snowflake projects.
- Communicate with leadership on Cloud usage trends/issues/optimization techniques.
- Collaborate with the D&A team on Cloud IAM & Role Management.
- Write complex SQL to analyze/troubleshoot data anomalies.
- Coordinate with Cybersecurity.
- Coordinate AWS Networking, IP Whitelisting.
- Participate in forecasting, building/improving forecasts.
- Work on building Cloud Governance policies, standards, and documentation.
Basic Requirements:
- 5+ years experience, 1+ year Snowflake experience.
- Snowflake & Cloud-based databases experience on IAM & Role Management
- Snowflake Data Sharing, Cloning, Data Exchange, DR replication features
- AWS, Databricks, and Python experience
- GIT experience (development, deployment, support)
- Deep understanding of AWS, GCP, Azure, and Snowflake resources.
- Linux & Windows environments experience.
- High-volume data processing experience (Snowflake, Redshift, Databricks, etc.).
- BI tools experience
- Data Governance
- Partner with Engineering & Product teams
- Advanced SQL, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint skills
Desired Characteristics:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
- AWS Solution Architect or Snowpro Core certification
