The Data and Analytics Team (D&A) at NBCUniversal seeks a passionate cloud data expert to participate in NBCU's cloud migration. Reporting to the AI Governance Engineering Manager, this role drives product usability and innovation in Data Analytics.
Responsibilities:
- Build Cloud Tagging frameworks, collaborate with engineering teams on implementation & monitoring.
- Develop a robust D&A Cloud management program (monitoring, alerting, governance, budgets, change management, cost optimization, show-backs, charge-backs).
- Analyze Cloud Usage reports to understand cost insights, metrics, KPIs.
- Develop automation solutions using AWS, Python, Databricks for cloud usage.
- Optimize Snowflake warehouse/database performance.
- Coordinate cloud issue resolution with Operations teams.
- Set up and monitor data shares, snowpipes for Snowflake projects.
- Communicate cloud usage trends, issues, and optimization techniques to leadership.
- Collaborate on Cloud IAM & Role Management.
- Write complex SQL to analyze/troubleshoot data anomalies.
- Coordinate with Cybersecurity to uphold NBCU security guidelines.
- Coordinate AWS Networking, IP Whitelisting.
- Participate in forecasting, build & improve cloud spend forecasts/trends using internal/external tools.
- Develop Cloud Governance policies, standards, & documentation.
Basic Requirements:
- 5+ years hands-on experience, 1+ year in Snowflake Cloud.
- Experience with Snowflake and cloud-based databases on IAM & Role Management.
- Experience with Snowflake Data Sharing, Cloning, Data Exchange, DR replication.
- Experience with AWS, Databricks, and Python.
- Experience with GIT development, deployment, support of data processes/procedures.
- Detailed understanding of AWS, GCP, Azure, and Snowflake resources (e.g., S3, Glue, Blob, EC2, Containers).
- Experience with Linux & Windows environments.
- Proven cloud operational monitoring/administration expertise.
- High-volume data processing experience using Snowflake, Redshift, Databricks.
- Experience with BI tools.
- Familiarity with cataloging and data governance.
- Experience with Engineering and Product teams on cloud optimization, costs.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving skills.
- Cross-functional collaboration skills for large initiative management.
- Advanced SQL, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint skills.
Desired Characteristics:
- Bachelor's Degree in Math, Computer Science, or related field.
- AWS Solution Architect or Snowpro Core certification (preferred).
- Strong interpersonal, communication, presentation, customer service skills.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, results-oriented problem-solving skills.
