Full-Time Sr Data Center Operations Engineer

Overview: Oversee daily data center operations, ensuring smooth critical infrastructure functioning. Manage capacity deployment, space utilization, budgets, material procurement, and facility stock. Schedule general operational uptime/maintenance. Manage vendors and strategic global projects. Collaborate cross-organizationally. Develop, document, and promote data center operation standards and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• 24/7 availability for support as needed, including off-hours maintenance, emergencies, and on-call situations.
• Troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within internal Service-Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Hands-on hardware break-fix experience with servers and network appliances.
• Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures.
• Adhere to all safety and physical security procedures.
• Conduct regular audits.
• Install, monitor, and maintain data center IT equipment.
• Manage vendors in a data center environment.
• Coordinate on-site equipment delivery and shipping.
• Install pre-integrated racks, individual servers, and network appliances, including stacking, wiring, and cable management.
• Strong understanding of networking/server architecture and hardware.
• Develop and implement processes.
• Strong analytical skills for multitasking issues.
• Open to domestic and international travel.
• Demonstrate ability to function independently in ambiguous situations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related IT field.
• 3+ years of data center or facility operations experience with increasing responsibilities.
• Working knowledge of networking and server architecture.
• Strong process orientation.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to multitask.
• Ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience building new data center sites, taking ownership of ongoing responsibilities, excellent documentation skills, cross-functional team collaboration experience. Technical understanding of data center facilities (power, HVAC, cabling, rack management, security). Knowledge of ITIL process methodologies, CCNA, CompTIA Hardware, and experience with Cisco, Juniper, and other networking devices.
