The Senior DevOps Engineer collaborates with the Product Engineering Team to cultivate a DevOps culture, promoting cross-team collaboration. The role focuses on automating development, testing, and production environments.
- Infrastructure Provisioning: Uses Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (Ansible, Go, Terraform) to provision infrastructure.
- Code & Test Automation: Automates code and test development.
- Software Deployments: Develops automation for software package deployments.
- Operational Processes: Automates operational processes.
The candidate will lead and guide teams in modernization efforts, embracing cloud platforms, containerization, and CI/CD. Strong experience with navigating the transition from a start-up to a mature organization is desired.
Infrastructure Management: Designs, implements, and maintains scalable, secure infrastructure using cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
CI/CD: Creates and manages CI/CD pipelines for automated builds, testing, and deployments.
Monitoring & Logging: Implements monitoring and logging solutions for system performance, proactive issue detection, and high availability.
Configuration Management: Uses configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef) for automated system configurations.
Collaboration: Works closely with development, QA, and operations teams to enhance system reliability.
Security: Implements security best practices throughout the development lifecycle, including vulnerability assessments.
Troubleshooting & Support: Provides advanced troubleshooting and support for production issues, resolving root causes.
Documentation: Maintains clear infrastructure documentation, supporting knowledge sharing and operational excellence.
Performance Optimization: Analyzes system performance to optimize resource utilization.
Mentorship: Mentors junior DevOps engineers, fostering continuous learning.
Required Skills: Modernization with cloud-native technologies (preferably GCP), microservice architecture, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- 5+ years DevOps experience in distributed Agile environments.
- 5+ years Ansible & Terraform experience.
- Fluency in scripting languages (Go and/or Python).
- Proficiency in DevOps tools/frameworks (GitHub, BitBucket, Jenkins, CircleCI).
- Solid understanding of container orchestration/management (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with Container Security tools (Twistlock, Cloud Insights).
- Experience with Static Code Analysis tools (SonarQube, DeepSource).
- Experience with SecOps (Blackduck, CheckMarx).
- Familiarity with Telemetry (Grafana, Prometheus).
- Strong Linux and Windows administration skills, securing tools and applications (Apache, SQL Server, MySQL).
- Effective communication (webcam, webconf, phone).
- High-speed internet access.
- Willingness to travel for team offsites and vendor meetings.
Salary: $118,000 - $139,000 (base, excludes benefits).
Bonus: 15% annual bonus, restricted stock units.
