The Role
The Sr Manager of Cloud Operations leads a team of engineers researching, designing, implementing, securing, and maintaining a mission-critical cloud infrastructure used by users globally.
The Manager of Cloud Operations must display self-motivation and innovation to new technological problems and possibilities.
What You'll Do
- Experience leading IT or cloud engineering teams in large environments.
- Hire, onboard, manage, and mentor staff for optimal service delivery.
- Manage projects and deliverables effectively, ensuring timely completion and high-quality standards.
- Responsible for the daily availability, monitoring, and maintenance of the BeyondTrust cloud infrastructure.
- Drive automation of infrastructure deployment using IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible).
- Lead project planning, execution, monitoring, documentation, and successful completion.
- Experience operating, securing, and managing AWS and Azure cloud environments.
- Manage cloud environments according to company security guidelines.
- Establish service levels, provide ongoing measurements, reporting, and dashboards of service effectiveness and customer satisfaction, holding the team accountable to standards.
- Integrate and troubleshoot third-party tools for access, management, or auditing.
- Constantly review pricing and service offerings to assist in cloud economics decisions (monetary and performance).
- Discuss needs with development teams and identify current/future needs.
- Investigate the environment for configuration issues and assist with SIEM rule development.
- Stay aware of service changes to add or remove features.
- Update process documentation (SOP) to ensure the entire environment is current.
- Define and enforce policies to achieve required cloud security, uptime, and availability.
- Work with vendors, suppliers, and other internal teams as needed.
What You'll Bring
- Leadership, communication, technical reasoning, and attention to detail.
- Experience operating, securing, and managing AWS and/or Azure cloud environments.
- Two or more years’ experience managing a large cloud environment.
- Experience with automation tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, Puppet).
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Datadog).
- Scripting in AWS or Azure-supported languages.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience preferred.
- AWS or Azure certifications a plus. Google Cloud, Oracle, or other cloud providers a plus.
