Full-Time Sr Network Engineer - Build E&C

Brightspeed is seeking a Sr Engineer - Network Build E&C to join their team!

As a Sr. Engineer, you will analyze network designs of complex circuits and paths across diverse equipment types, evaluate traffic, and propose grooming recommendations aligned with network optimization strategies.

Responsibilities include:

• Evaluating embedded off-net to on-net circuit designs and costs, proposing solutions for disconnection or grooming.
• Interpreting Brightspeed's long-range architectural deployments and future network solutions to assess network impact and prioritize engineering work.
• Understanding and learning new topology configurations and network element dependencies by collaborating with vendors, architects, and planning teams.
• Partnering with Carrier Relations (CR), Planning, Finance, and third-party network build team members.
• Acting as a subject matter expert (SME) for circuit design and equipment.
• Participating in conversion activities to Brightspeed's end-state systems, providing rollout recommendations, UAT/ORT support, and real-time issue resolution.
• Conducting training sessions for regional teams on new architectural solutions.
• Collaborating with the Network Build Team Lead and assisting directs with system anomalies or new build designs.
• Receiving special assignments from project managers or third-party managers to support Brightspeed's growth and network acceleration.

Qualifications:

• Associate degree or equivalent and 8+ years of experience in telecommunications, engineering, network planning, or equivalent outside plant engineer experience.
• Proficient in planning and/or engineering.
• Proficient in relevant systems and Microsoft Office.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with planning, operations, and internal Brightspeed teams.

Bonus Points:

• Knowledge of network architecture platforms
• Experience with Lumen TSA Engineering and Planning systems (NDSTIRKS, OmniVue, etc.)
• Understanding of device and circuit modeling principles
