Full-Time Sr. Network Engineer - Build Team

Brightspeed is seeking a Sr. Engineer - Network Build E&C to join their team. As a Sr. Engineer, you will analyze complex circuit and pathing designs across diverse equipment types, evaluate traffic, and design grooming recommendations based on network optimization strategies. This involves considering End User Customer impact, transport requirements, future network augmentations, and adjusting engineering priorities to meet Quarterly and YE NetEx Targets.

Responsibilities include:

• Evaluating embedded off-net to on-net circuit designs and costs, proposing solutions for disconnection or grooming.
• Interpreting BSPD’s long-range architectural Next Gen deployments and future solutions to assess network impact and prioritize engineering work.
• Understanding and learning new topology configurations and network element dependencies by partnering with Vendors, BSPD Architects, and Planning teams.
• Partnering with Carrier Relations, Planning, Finance, and the Network Build 3rd party team members.
• Serving as a SME for circuit design and/or equipment.
• Participating in conversion activities to BSPD End State systems, providing rollout recommendations, UAT/ORT support, and real-time problem resolution.
• Conducting training sessions for regional teams on new architectural solutions.
• Partnering with the Network Build Team Lead and assisting directs with system anomalies and new build designs.
• Receiving special assignments for analysis, review, and action from Project Managers and/or 3rd Party Managers to support future growth.

Qualifications:

• Associate degree or equivalent and 8 years of experience in telecommunications, engineering, network planning, or equivalent outside plant engineer experience.
• Knowledge and skills in planning and engineering.
• Proficiency in relevant systems and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work effectively with Planning, Operations, and internal BSPD Teams.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Bonus points for:

• Working knowledge of Network Architecture platforms
• Prior experience with LUMEN TSA Engineering and Planning systems (NDSTI, RKSO, OmniVue)
• Device and Circuit modeling principles
• LOSDB, CLONES/CATTA experience.
