Full-Time Sr. Operations Engineer

As an Sr. Operations Engineer in the Broadband NOC, you will own and be accountable for Broadband/DSLAM network topology and Ethernet router/switch equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Proactive technical leadership for service assurance, delivery, network reliability, and customer satisfaction.
• High-level analysis and identification of complex Broadband network issues.
• Technical management in resolving real-time network issues.
• Training and mentorship of Technical Support engineers.
• In-depth expertise in hardware/software/database operations for various Broadband platforms (DSL, Fiber Broadband, ATM, Ethernet).
• Production of Technical Support bulletins and alerts.
• Review and approval/correction of MOPs, NCMS documents, TOPs, PCNs, Vendor Manuals, Standard Configurations.
• Technical direction of personnel in Field Operations and Maintenance Centers.
• Participation in new feature/product testing and operational assessments of FOAs.
• Software upgrade review, regression testing, and deployment management.
• Engagement with manufacturer/supplier support for unresolved platform/application issues.
• Engagement with various teams (Staff, Technology, Vendors, etc.)
• Network Maintenance and Software upgrades within maintenance window.
• 7x24x365 and on-call duties.

Required Skills:

• Extensive knowledge of Broadband/DSLAM network architecture.
• Ethernet router/switch and ATM network equipment expertise.
• Knowledge of EMS, OSS, network inventory, alarming, provisioning.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Effective communication (oral, written, presentation) across all levels.
• Effective leadership skills.
• 4-year degree in Engineering, IT, or Telecommunications or equivalent experience.
